Anniversary Weekend

Jeremy and I celebrated our 1st Anniversary on March 26th. I can't believe that it has only been a year, it seems like we have been together forever. We weren't able to celebrate that day, so we decided that we would celebrate while Hayden was gone to Kauai.
Jeremy planned the last weekend and so he said that I was in charge of planning this weekend :-( I don't like being in charge.
April 18th, Friday afternoon we left our house and drove to Salt Lake. We went to the Gateway and while we were taking the elevator to the shopping levels the elevator stopped and all the lights went out. I started to panic because I had to go the bathroom and I was imagining being in there for a long time. We used a cell phone light to see the buttons. We pushed different different floors, door open, and rang the alarm. Then we found the phone and we called. The operator was able to get the elevator to open at the next level. Thank goodness.
I had planned for us to see some shows at the Clark Planetarium. First we saw Mummies on the IMAX screen (for Jeremy). After that show we had time to walk around to some shops. The Gateway was getting set up for the Salt Lake Marathon which was going to be the next day, so there was a lot of people there. At 9:00 we went to the U2 Laser show, I was excited, you know how much I love Bono. The show wasn't as good as others I had seen.
That night we stayed at a hotel in Sandy. Saturday Morning we slept in and then we went to brunch at one of our most favorite places, Normandie. I have never gotten anything I didn't love there.
The weather was windy most of the day, but we went golfing anyway. We went 9 holes at the Mick Riley course in Murray. It was our first round of the season and we were excited to see if our driving range trips had paid off.
After Golfing we went to The Shane Company to look at rings. Jeremy gave me a very pretty diamond for our anniversary. I want to have it made into a right hand ring. The Shane Company doesn't do custom rings so we will have to find a place that does.
After that we went shopping at the Mall. I was lucky to find some church clothes. I always look but can never find any skirts I like.
So by now it was about 8:00 p.m. and we hadn't eaten dinner yet. So to the Cheesecake Factory it was. We had gone there 2 weeks earlier and loved it. We shared one meal and got two desserts, we wanted some for Sunday too. The food there is so good.
We got home about midnight and crashed into bed.
What a fun weekend we had.

Sand vs. Sand

April 8th Hayden flew to Kauai with Britany and Halli. It was her spring break and with frequent flyer miles, why not? This is her 3rd time there and Jeremy and I were feeling a little jealous that we didn't get to go. We wanted to play in the sand too. So, Jeremy planned a weekend at the sand dunes. We went with his cousin Josh and his wife Michelle.
We left on Friday the 11th, it was cold and it was hard to find a camp spot. A crazy drunk guy ran into Josh's dad's truck and put a big dent in it. We put the tents up in the dark and it wasn't easy.
Saturday the weather was perfect warm with a little breeze. We had so much fun. I couldn't believe how many people were there. Josh and Michelle lost their camera, but they were good sports about it.
Sunday we packed up and took a few leisure rides. Our tent pole snapped in half and we ended up throwing it away (I wanted a bigger one anyway). Then we drove back home.
So, even though we weren't playing on the sandy beaches of Kauai, we had a great time together.
P.S. We miss you Hayden
