Happy Retirement Ted!

Sunday Jen had a surprise retirement party for Ted, my Step-father. (I hate to use the word "step" because I think it sounds negative) Ted is retiring from being a professor for 35 years. Ted has taught at Utah State for the past 25 years and 10 years at about 4 other universities. If you have gone to Utah State chances are you have taken a class from Professor Alsop.
Ted is the best example of a hard worker I know. He has received the "Professor of the Year" award many years. He is up at the crack of dawn and always ready and eager to get to work. He is so dedicated to school that he never missed ONE day of school from kindergarten through 12th grade. (Can you believe that?)
Ted such a great guy. We can't imagine how it would be without him in our lives. We are "lucky," as Ted would say. Ted is the most generous man alive. He would give you anything he had, whether it be the clothes he is wearing, his bed, his car or his wallet. He has has offered me all of these.
We are happy that Ted finally gets to retire. We know he is looking forward to some early morning tee times.

What will he do with all his free time?

The retirement cake, obviously the person writing on the cake didn't go to college.

Congratulations Ted! We love you

SuperCross Weekend

I always look forward to time when we can all get away. Jeremy and his family had this Supercross weekend planned before Christmas. I had know idea what SuperCross even was. I thought it was a red-neck event. I have never know anyone that has gone......until now.

Jeremy and I got work off Friday and Hayden got to miss school. We left Friday morning and went to SLC and got our taxes done. Then we went and got our hairs done at Olivia Jade Hair Studios by our lovely sister-in-law Jessica. She does an awesome job. Thanks Jessica!

We had a BBQ that night at Tim and Jessica's house and we watched BOLT. We are so thankful for their hospitality and letting us stay at their house. Thanks guys!
Saturday morning the guys all took off to go to Rice-Eccles Stadium. They were so excited and wanted to be able to meet the riders and see the motorcycles. Jessica, me and Hayden went shopping to the South Towne Mall. Hayden was so excited to be down in SLC again. She kept commenting on how she couldn't believe she was in SLC again and how she remembers everything. She is funny, she acts like we never go anywhere.

Hayden then got to have her dreams come true and got to go to the Arnold's, our old neighbors house, for the rest of the day and night. They have three girls that she thinks and wishes were her sisters. She loves them and wishes we still lived next door. Thanks Dianalynn!

Jessica and I shopped the rest of the day & found deals like us girls always tell our husbands:-) We met everyone else at the Stadium at 7. The parking was ridiculous and we parked like 5 miles away and caught a shuttle.

SuperCross is a motorcycle race in the dirt, for all you that don't know like I didn't. There are no tricks or stunts involved, just racing, and Pink's estranged husband, Corey Hart, has nothing to do with this type of motorcycles event. The guys loved it. It was a cold night.

We picked Hayden up around 11:40 and stayed at Tim and Jessica's again. We left Sunday morning. We love our weekend away.

This was at the beginning or the event, when it was still light outside.

This is the fun group we went with. Me, Lindy, Dan, Preston, Carrie, Jessica & Tim.

Here are some racers. There was even a kid from Lehi competing, which the Newcomb's loved.

Here is a little video clip of what it's like.

Crazy Hair

Hayden asks me to do her hair like this all the time, but we never have time in the morning. This morning we woke up earlier and it only took about a half hour.

Baby Animal Days & Easter

Easter weekend was fun. Easter is a great time of year, usually a welcome to Spring
Friday Hayden and I went with my mom up the Utah State and surprised Ted. He is retiring this semester and we wanted to get some pictures and videos of him teaching. Cannon and Justine met us and we all had lunch, the pizza was "so good yummy"
Saturday, Hayden and I met Abbey, Todd and Cache at the American West Heritage Center for Baby Animal Days. What some cute babies. It was such great weather. Hayden and I couldn't stay long, because Hayden had been invited to go with her friends to the new Hannah Montana movie. She and her friends thought it was the best movie ever.
Sunday, the Easter Bunny visited and left a few surprises. He really needs to get that hole in his bag fixed. After church we went to my parents for a nice traditional Easter dinner. After dinner most everyone enjoyed a game of Annie-I-Over. Jeremy is still sore.

Our 2nd Anniversary Weekend Celebration

We celebrated our 2nd anniversary this weekend. Our anniversary is March 26th, but we had a lot of stuff going on that weekend. We have been so excited to get away if only for a night.
We first went shopping at the Outlets in Park City. Then we had an appointment scheduled to soak in the Crater at the Homestead in Midway. We swam for about 1 hour and snorkeled around. The water is about 88-90 degrees. There were many SCUBA divers underneath us. The water is about 65 feet deep. (This pictures is us before we got in the water. )
After our soak we went and had dinner in Heber at the Dairy Keen. Not very romantic, but its good. We had a relaxing night.
(this pictures is us on top of the Crater)Sunday morning we got breakfast at Fanny's Grill and then the best part of all was our massages. We each got a foot soak and a half hour massage at the Homestead Spa. We could of stayed there all day.
(This is another view on the top of the Crater)
We can't believe the weekend is over. I can't wait until next time.
