It's Valentine's Day. But wait, where's Jeremy?

Us girls were creative this year and we decided to surprise the guys for Valentine's Day. So a month before Valentine's, us girls (Mom, Me, Abbey & Jenna) made some plans. We were going to take the guys out to dinner at a nice restaurant, give then chocolates, give them roses, write them a poem, what could be more romantic? I quickly made a reservation at Le Nonne, none of us had ever been there, but we knew it was nice. We decided to make chocolate roses, that way they would get flowers and chocolates in one. Abbey and Mom were in charge of making the roses. Now the hard part........writing a poem. For some people, that may be something you do everyday, but for me who hasn't written a poem since 8th grade, I knew I was in big trouble. For days I worked on the poem and finally came up with one and yep I am going to post it because, I may never do another one.
Valentine's Day grew closer and Jeremy learned he would have to work In Delta that day, which is a 4 hour drive from our house. They told him they would start early so he could make it back in time. I was optomistic, but things didnt work out the way any of us had planned. Jeremy finally finished with surgery around 6 p.m. that day and there was no way he would make it back in time. I was sad because I wanted to surprise him, but I knew there was nothing we could do about it. Luckily, I still got to go and Hayden became my date. It was such a fun night and I loved every ones poems, they were so sweet.
So the next day when Jeremy got home I tried to make up for the night that he missed. Maybe next year.
A Valentines's Poem for Jeremy
I am not a person tht writes poems
Could this be the start of a bad omen?
I started thinking of all the words that would rhyme
"Oh my goodness, would I finish in time?"
Will all this thinking worsen my ulcer?
Or will I just end up with another cold sore?
Jeremy means so much to me,
Would I really be able to let him see?
The way that I feel about him,
Would it sound weird if I said he could be my twin?
He seemed so perfect from the day we met,
The next date I quickly set
Then I told him I wanted dessert instead of a meal,
He said, "Alright, it's a deal"
When I saw that cleaning sent him into abyss,
I knew I could get used to this
I soon found out he loved to board
I knew I had really scored
It was plain for me to see,
When I found out he like chocolate more than me
He asked me if he could take me to four-wheel,
There's no way I was going to pass up this deal
And if you have ever heard him sing,
You know exaclty why I said "Yes" to the ring
He's been so thoughtful from the start
He definitely knew how to win my heart
Jeremy has always treated me like a queen,
And has always given me his shoulder to lean
I really had no idea being married could be so great
In out hearts we know its fate

Good poem Darcie! I have not written a poem since like 8th grade either. But, I am too scared to try. Sucked that Jer did not make it, but what a fun memory that will be for you and Hayden.

Hey Darci,
I haven't checked my blog forever, and I was so excited to hear from you. It sounds like things are going well for you guys, but don't you wish you were in Hawaii right now? Maybe you have some anniversary plans to get out of that crazy weather in cache valley. We are loving it in Seattle. It's been in the sixties the past few weeks so we can't complain. We would love some visitors if you're ever in the area.
