Tony's Grove & White Pine Lake

This weekend we decide to get out and away from out normal everyday life of working, cleaning the house & doing yard work. We wanted to go camping and hiking and just enjoy the outdoors.
We left Friday around 4 p.m. and I was so worried that there would be no campsites left at the campground I wanted to stay. Sure enough, when we got there the campground was completely full and I was very discouraged. Just our luck as we drove past one of the last sites the people there said they were leaving and they had already paid thru Sunday. If we wanted it, it was ours. We were so lucky, because that site was the best in the place, we had a view of the lake and the mountains.
We loved our new big tent. Jeremy can even stand up in it.
Saturday we went on the White Pine hike. It ended up being about 9 miles up and back. It was totally worth it. The scenery was beautiful. It took us about 5 hours. It was so refreshing.
Saturday night we drove down to Garden City. We didn't know it was Raspberry Days at Bear Lake, but we soon found out when we had to wait in line for 40 minutes to get a raspberry shake (always so good). We were also able to sit and watch the Olympics for a bit.
Saturday night it rained and blew, but our new tent kept us dry. We quickly packed up Sunday morning and headed home. We had dinner at my mom's that night.
We love our weekends.

I hiked that trail like 20 years ago and "refreshing" wasn't the word I would have used back then, lol. It was torture. It was with the young womens and I packed like 2 6-packs of diet coke on my back. What an idiot! Way cute pics and I am glad you lucked out and got an awesome spot to camp!

That camping place looks so pretty - where is it? Looks like you had a fun time. And I think 40 minutes is totally worth it for a raspberry shake!

Heidi,
It is up Logan Canyon about 20 miles. The whole area is called Tony's Grove. It is so pretty.

camping is always a lot of work, but when you can get a good hike in that makes it worth it! Looks like lots of FUN!
